Our Products
Our signature, single-origin Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta coffee is available in a 12-ounce bag.
Vívolo Coffee Reserve Select limited-release, single-estate microlots are available in 8-ounce bags.
All Vívolo Coffee is small-batch roasted at Vívolo Cafe located in Santa Marta, Colombia. From the moment the fruit is picked to when green coffee beans arrive at our café, we’re a part of every step in the process to ensure the freshest coffee from harvest to your cup.
At Vívolo, freshness starts long before a coffee is roasted. It begins at harvest and continues through every step of the process, from picking and processing to storage, transport, and roasting.
Harvest timing plays a critical role in freshness, since coffee is at its best when it is picked at peak ripeness. This sets the foundation for flavor and freshness that lasts through the final cup.
After coffees arrive at the café, they are roasted in small batches to bring out the best and more dynamic natural flavor profiles before being shipped to the U.S.
We believe that our coffee presents the best flavor when it is freshly ground and ground according to your brewing method. For this reason, we sell only whole bean coffee that allows you to grind it at home according to your preparation preferences.
We always say the best way to prepare our coffee is however you like to enjoy it. Milk? Sugar? Black? It's all a matter of preference.
However, we have some suggestions when it comes to grinding at home and grain size based on the brewing method.
- V60 - medium to fine
- Chemex - medium
- Fresh Press - medium
- AeroPress - fine
- Espresso Machine - fine
- Traditional Drip Brewer - medium
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is one of the most unique coffee-growing regions in the world. It is the highest coastal mountain range on Earth, creating a rare combination of high elevation, tropical climate, and rich biodiversity.
Coffee grown here benefits from cooler temperatures, fertile soils, and diverse microclimates. This results in balanced cups with vibrant acidity, layered flavors, and exceptional clarity. Experience it for yourself with our signature Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta coffee.
Think about what you enjoy. If you love smooth, cozy cups, look for coffees with chocolatey or nutty notes. If you are drawn to something a little brighter and vibrant, coffees with fruit or citrus notes might be your match.
Each coffee on our website includes tasting notes and descriptions to help guide you, but there’s no wrong choice. Exploring different coffees is part of the fun!
No. We are proud to say that there are no additives in any of our coffee. Tasting notes describe the natural flavors that develop based on where the coffee is grown, how it’s processed, and how it’s roasted. Just like wine or chocolate, coffee can naturally express flavors that remind people of fruits, sweets, or spices, all without syrups or added flavors!
Once opened, enjoy your coffee within two to four weeks. To keep it tasting its best, store your coffee in an airtight container away from direct light, heat, and moisture. Grinding the beans just before brewing will also help to preserve flavor.
No. Our Reserve Select collection of coffees features rare, single-estate microlots. This means these coffees come from a single lot and harvest of coffee from a single farm. As a result, they are produced in very limited quantities and can't be replenished.
Our chief curator, Gustavo Valderrama, is always on the hunt for the best microlot coffees coming out Colombia. So, while we can't replenish a previous lot, we always offer direct access to a rotating and expertly curated selection of Colombia's top single origin specialty coffees, each with its own unique flavor profile.
Coffee 101
A microlot refers to a small, carefully separated batch of coffee from a specific farm or section of a farm. These coffees are produced in limited quantities and are often the result of unique growing conditions, experimental processing methods, or exceptional quality. Due to their limited size and high quality, microlot coffees tend to offer a more distinct and complex flavor profile.
Our top tier Reserve Select collection of coffees consists of only rare, single-estate, microlots sourced directly from farmers in Colombia's most distinctive growing regions.
Referring to a coffee as "single origin" means it comes from one specific geographic location. This could mean a single country, distinct region, or even a single farm. Since the coffee comes from one place, it clearly reflects the environmental factors of that origin, including climate, soil, elevation, and processing methods.
All Vívolo Coffees are single origin coffees. Our top tier Reserve Select collection takes things a step further by featuring not just single origin, but coffees that come from a single lot, harvest, and farm. These coffees are extremely rare and limited.
Elevation plays a major role in how coffee develops. Higher elevations typically result in slower-growing coffee cherries, which allows more time for sugars and complex flavors to develop.
Coffees grown at higher elevations often have brighter acidity, greater complexity, and cleaner flavor profiles compared to those grown at lower elevations.
When it comes to coffee tasting notes and flavor profiles, body describes how coffee feels when you drink it, from light and smooth to rich and full.
Acidity describes the brightness and liveliness, not sourness or bitterness. It adds balance and helps the flavors feel clear and crisp.
Coffee is deeply influenced by where it is grown. Climate, soil, elevation, and processing methods all play a major role in shaping flavor. Since conditions vary from region to region, coffees naturally develop distinct flavor profiles, giving each origin its own identity.
